Performance and Application
Rosemount analytical's circular conductivity sensor is suitable for the measurement of solutions with strong corrosion and easy to block.
A pair of wire wound metal ring coil is used as the measuring principle of the ring (electric induction) conductivity sensor. The electrode of the sensor is completely isolated from the process. Two coils, one as transmitter and the other as receiver. When the transmitter coil is energized, the electrolyte solution conducts electricity to generate an induced current, which is proportional to the conductivity of the solution. The receiver coil detects the current, and then calculates the conductivity of the solution. The 225, 226 and 228 ring conductivity sensors are two wire wound metal ring coils customized in the peek or tefzel ring mold with corrosion resistance.
The structure of the 222 ring conductivity sensor is slightly different. It also has two coils, the transmitter and the receiver. But these two coils are installed in a short tube lined with polytetrafluoroethylene, and the process medium flows through the short tube. Since the loop coil is not directly inserted into the solution under test, external wiring is required to connect the circuit. The so-called external wiring is to connect two metal rings with short connectors. The metal ring is not only the two working coils of the circular conductivity sensor, but also contacts with the process medium, and the short connector plays the role of connecting the coils. For the 222 sensor, the contact coil is the flange connecting the sensor and the process pipeline.
The ring conductivity sensor is suitable for high conductivity detection, with a maximum of 0-2 s / cm (0-2000000 μ s / cm), while the minimum detection value depends on the size of the sensor ring and the number of coils wound on the ring, and the minimum detection value range is 50-500 μ s / cm. The measurement value of the circular conductivity sensor has nothing to do with the flow rate and direction of the solution, but it must be ensured that the circular hole of the sensor cannot be blocked.
The 200 series of annular conductivity sensors can be used with all the annular conductivity analyzers of Rosemount analytical. All sensors have built-in thermoresistance to measure temperature, which compensates the measured value of conductivity. 228 sensor can be equipped with mechanical or manual plug-in valve assembly.
